Real Madrid have so far been all gas no brakes as far as their business in the transfer market is concerned heading into the new season.
Dean Huijsen has been signed, Trent Alexander-Arnold’s capture is set to be announced next week and things are progressing well in the pursuit of Benfica left-back Alvaro Carreras.
Beyond that, Real Madrid also intend to bring in a top midfielder while the signing of another centre-back is not ruled out either.
A Galactico signing on the cards?
Now, according to Joaquin Maroto on AS, Real Madrid are now seriously considering making a big ‘Galactico’ signing in the summer transfer window.
Indeed, Los Blancos are giving serious thought to the idea of roping in a big star to strengthen the squad further, although any such signing will only happen after the FIFA Club World Cup.
Maroto states that the name of the player that the Spanish heavyweights are considering signing is not known at this point. But it will be a signing which will cost more than €100 million.
If true, it would further underline Real Madrid’s intent heading into the new season after having been below par this time around, not winning any of the three major trophies.

As for the identity of the big star signing that Real Madrid are considering, it must be noted that the club has held a strong, long-standing interest in Bayer Leverkusen ace Florian Wirtz.
The German international is being tipped to join Bayern Munich this summer but if Real Madrid decide to enter the race, the presence of Xabi Alonso as their new manager might have an influence.
There have been murmurs of a move for Erling Haaland as well, as has been the case heading into all recent summer transfer windows.
But if Rodrygo Goes leaves, as is being speculated, it cannot be ruled out that Real Madrid go after a marquee attacking signing like Haaland.
