Manchester United face Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final in Bilbao on Wednesday.
The Red Devils have endured a torrid season so far and currently sit 16th in the Premier League table, having lost against rivals Chelsea in their last outing.
Ruben Amorim’s side will therefore miss out on qualification for European football next term, unless they defeat the Lilywhites in the Europa League final.
Away from the action, it appears that United are edging closer to finalising their first signing of the summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils are nearing an agreement to sign Wolves’ Matheus Cunha.
The 25-year-old is enjoying a fine season for Wolves, having scored 15 goals in 31 matches for the Midlands club in the Premier League this term.

Romano claims, however, that he has accepted United’s proposal and is close to finalising an agreement on personal terms with the Manchester club.
He also claims that, once personal terms have been fully agreed, the two clubs will work to reach a total agreement before the deal can be finalised.
Cunha joined Wolves from Spanish side Atletico Madrid in 2023, initially on loan, before making the move permanent months later.
He has since played 90 times for the Molineux outfit across all competitions, scoring 33 goals and providing 15 assists.
The Brazil international is under contract with Wolves until the end of the 2028/29 campaign, but it appears increasingly likely that he will depart Molineux during the upcoming summer transfer window.
United have struggled in attack this season, with both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee underperforming in front of goal.
The pair have netted a combined total of just 17 times in 98 appearances for the Red Devils so far this term, and it appears that those in charge of the club are keen to bolster Amorim’s attacking options.
