The Boston Celtics fell short of their title repeat chances, falling in the second round of the playoffs to the New York Knicks. But to make matters even worse, the Celtics also lost star forward Jayson Tatum to an Achilles tear.
Tatum is now expected to miss the majority of next season while he recovers from the injury. The Celtics star has already undergone surgery to repair the issue, potentially helping to aid his recovery.
During his end-of-the-year press conference, Celtics president Brad Stevens revealed more information on the injury. Stevens said that Boston was already on the phone with doctors directly after the injury occurred.
It was also revealed that the surgery was done by the time the team's injury report came out the next day.
