Manchester United are set to have a massive boost to their Europa League hopes as two of Ruben Amorim’s key defenders are back in the squad.
The Red Devils have been plagued with injuries this season, especially in defence, with Lisandro Martinez, Leny Yoro, Ayden Heaven, Matthijs de Ligt and Diogo Dalot all being ruled out in the last half of the season.
Prior to this, Luke Shaw also experienced an extensive time in the treatment room, but has seemingly made a sustainable return to Amorim’s squad.
With the extent of injuries plaguing Amorim’s back three, the Portuguese manager was looking at the potential of having to use back-ups like Victor Lindelof or youngsters like Tyler Fredricson in his most important game of the season.
United’s Champions League hopes lie on the line with the Europa League final, with a win over Tottenham in Bilbao granting them qualification to the top tier of European football next season.
