As the Boston Celtics enter the upcoming offseason, the team has a lot of uncertainty around the roster. While Boston does have more of its core signed for years, there is a heavy expectation that the Celtics will be active this summer.

Due to the new CBA restrictions, the Celtics may not be able to afford to keep this unit together. This could see Boston make some major moves this offseason, breaking up the title-winning group.
It seems that nobody is safe, and that Boston could move just about anyone. Many around the league are watching the Celtics closely to see how they will manage things and which players could become available.
But during his end-of-the-year press conference, Celtics president Brad Stevens pushed back on that thought a little. Stevens said that he didn't want to be rash in any decisions being made.
"At the end of each season, you have maybe a little more clarity from the season that just happened, and what happened during, right? So I like to give everybody a few days to take a deep breath because you don't want to make decisions that are rash or emotional. We have a lot to sit through or sort out, think about, and we will do that. There will be a lot of us in the room, and we'll take the time over the next couple of weeks."
Many around the league are expecting the Celtics to part with at least two pieces of the core group, if not more. Boston can't continue to operate as a team in the second apron unless they want to face the harsh penalties down the line.

Center Kristaps Porzingis and point guard Jrue Holiday are the most heavily talked about players to be moved this summer. Both were instrumental in the Celtics winning the title in 2024, but each saw declining production this season.
It will be an interesting summer for Boston, and the team will look to put itself back in the title hunt. The Celtics have a long way to go, especially with the Achilles injury to star Jayson Tatum.
His injury could impact things as well, making this summer twice as crucial for Boston.
