Liverpool fans say'Trent you watching?'after Conor Bradley nutmeg assists Harvey Elliott

Liverpool fans have been left saying 'you watching Trent Alexander-Arnold' after Conor Bradley set up Harvey Elliott to give the Reds the lead at Brighton.

Arne Slot's side travelled to the south coast on Monday night to take on Brighton, with the Dutchman taking the chance to make a number of changes, including giving Bradley another chance at right-back.

With Alexander-Arnold leaving Anfield in the summer and set to join Real Madrid, Bradley continues to be given an opportunity to stake his place to replace the outgoing England star. While Bayer Leverkusen full-back Jeremie Frimpong's £30million move to Anfield appears close to being sealed.

And the 21-year-old has done just that as he brilliantly set up Liverpool's opener. Making an inside run in the channel between the Seagulls' left back and centre back, Bradley pulled off a cheeky nutmeg to evade the recovering Simon Adingra.

Bradley then delivered a deft shimmy to ghost past Adam Webster and reach the touchline. There, he picked his head up and pulled the ball back on a plate for the onrushing Elliott to tap home.

Fans took to social media to laud over Bradley's assist, but obviously, there was only one man on their mind. One user said: "Only one Conor Bradley. Who needs Trent."

A second agreed: "Who needs Trent when we have Conor Bradley." Another added: "Conor Bradley has double the amount of assists of Trent since Christmas, and beats him on every single defensive stat per 90. Just saying."

A fourth said: "Trent are you watching." While a fifth lauded: "That Harvey Elliott's goal was all Conor Bradley. First the nutmeg, then slight cut-back. Brilliant play."

Bradley could have made it 2-0 later in the first-half as he appeared stuck between two minds - whether to shoot across goal at the far post or clip the ball across the face of the goal. In the end, his sliced attempt wasted the Reds' next best opening.

Following that missed chance, Brighton grew into the game and deservedly equalised in the 32nd minute when Yasin Ayari coolly slotted into the bottom corner off balance.
