Ben Wilkinson hang up his boots at the age of 24. He started with Hull, never played a league game, but was given chances at other places on loan. He played for Tamworth and Boston before leaving the game as a player in 2011.
Born in Sheffield in 1987, he is now 38 years of age. This would be a huge jump. He is still an up and coming modern manager type. He is at a club with the best facilities and people to learn from. He has been picked by Pep Guardiola to do what he is doing at the moment. He has the right mindset and background. He is set to become a very successful manager at a professional league level in the future.
He took over the job from current Leicester coach Brian Barry-Murphy. Ben Wilkinson has done fantastic in this special role. He has been one bringing forward the best young talents in English football.
