Viral Video of Pacers Fan Getting Pelted With Trash By Knicks Fans Prompts Pacers Star to Fly Him Out for Game

An Indiana Pacers fan who was pelted with trash by a mob of New York Knicks fans was invited to the an upcoming playoff game by Pacers star **Tyrese Haliburton**.

On Friday, the Knicks beat the Boston Celtics to win the their Eastern Conference semifinal series 4-2. They will take on the Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals beginning Wednesday.

Amid the pandemonium outside Madison Square Garden, a lone Pacers fan was captured on video wandering the area with a Pacers jersey on. That got the attention of dozens of Knicks fans, who quickly crowded him and even threw bags of trash at him.

The fan — later identified as **Hans Perez** — joined _The **Pat McAfee** Show_ on Monday to break down what happened that night. Suddenly, Haliburton appeared to surprise Perez with a gift.

“I want to personally bring you and a plus-one out here to come to Game 4 here in Indiana,” Haliburton said. “I’ll bring you guys out here, put you guys up, get you guys seats to the game. The Pacers, everybody in our organization wants to make sure you’re taken care of. All the team’s excited to meet you. It’s all we’ve been talking about. Everybody’s seen the video. So, man, we want to bring you out here; and yeah, man, I’m really excited about that.”

Perez — a firefighter in New York — immediately accepted the invitation.

“You know, I gotta talk to the guys,” Perez said. “I’m pretty sure we can work something out.

“I just wanna say thank you, Tyrese, man. Yo, you are awesome. The team is awesome. I appreciate that; and man, let’s go, Pacers!”
