Man United in talks to sign £65 million winger

Manchester United face fellow Premier League strugglers Tottenham Hotspur in the final of the Europa League on Wednesday night.

The two sides have both underperformed domestically this term and currently sit 16th and 17th in the Premier League table respectively, meaning they will not qualify automatically for European football next term.

Winning the Europa League will see one of the two sides qualify for next term’s Champions League, however, and both Ruben Amorim and Ange Postecoglou will therefore be desperate to lift the trophy in Bilbao on Wednesday.

Off the pitch, United are set to be busy during this summer’s transfer window.

Now, it has merged that the club are in talks to sign one of the Premier League’s most in-demand attackers.

According to TEAMtalk, United are in talks over a potential deal for Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo.

The 25-year-old is enjoying an impressive season for the Cherries, having netted 11 times in 40 matches for the south coast side across all competitions.

The report claims that Semenyo’s impressive form has attracted interest from Manchester United who have now opened talks over a possible deal for the Ghana international.

Bournemouth are said to have placed a £65 million price tag on the winger, who can play on either flank.

Semenyo joined the Cherries from Bristol City in 2023 and has since established himself as one of their most important players, making more than 80 appearances for the club in total.

Both Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are also said to be interested in the Ghanaian, who could be the subject of a battle to sign him during the upcoming transfer window.

The forward’s contract with Bournemouth is set to run until the end of the 2028/29 campaign.
