Manchester United are determined to remodel their squad in a bid to fight back next season and improve on the last two years of disappointing Premier League campaigns.
This season has been plagued with injuries, as well as simply disastrous performances from first-choice players like Rasmus Hojlund and Andre Onana.
Whilst the pair can’t be solely to blame, with the whole team struggling to provide consistency on the pitch United’s attack has been significantly lacking.
Hojlund and fellow striker Joshua Zirkzee have registered a combined 17 goals and seven assists, so it’s understandable that Amorim is prioritising some summer signings in attack.
Whilst United are on the brink of signing Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers, they’ve also taken another step in their pursuit of Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap.

The Athletic has reported that United executives have met with Delap, face-to-face, to discuss a move to Old Trafford.
Ipswich authorised their star striker to travel to Manchester to understand how a move to Old Trafford would play out.
It’s understood that Delap will be taking the same steps to meet with all his respective suitors, with the striker looking set to remain in the Premier League despite Ipswich’s recent relegation.
Due to The Tractor Boys heading down to the Championship, Delap’s release clause stands at £30 million which is reportedly affordable for United alongside Cunha.
Unfortunately, a key sticking point to the move for Delap appears to be the striker’s desire for Champions League football.
However, a win over Tottenham in the Europa League final would qualify the Red Devils for the top tier of European football next season, putting them on a level playing field with other Premier League squads who are interested in his signature.
