Draymond Green returns to ‘Inside the NBA’ for Eastern Conference Finals

Draymond Green is making his grand return to Inside the NBA.

TNT Sports announced on Monday that the Golden State Warriors forward would join the Inside crew for the first two games of the Eastern Conference Finals in New York. Green became a regular presence on Inside the NBA throughout the 2024 playoffs, and didn’t exactly receive rave reviews from the collective sports media.

Green made headlines during the 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend when he used his TNT platform to rip the event and question why players from Candace Parker’s Rising Stars roster were sharing the floor with the All-Stars during pregame festivities, claiming they didn’t “earn” that privilege.

That take didn’t go over well.

Michelle Beadle called him a “hypocrite,” and Nick Wright labeled him “unprofessional.”

That last word resurfaced again, and it wasn’t without reason.

Green claimed, without sourcing or evidence, that Karl-Anthony Towns sat out the Knicks-Warriors game in New York because he didn’t want to face former teammate Jimmy Butler. The implication was obvious. Towns was ducking Butler over past tensions from their time together in Minnesota.

Chris Broussard amplified the comments on FS1, and they started to grow like wildfire.

Except it wasn’t true. None of it was. Towns had missed the game to attend a funeral for a close family friend.

That led Awful Announcing’s Matt Yoder to call for TNT to cut ties with Green entirely. But the network clearly has no plans to do so. In what will be its final Inside the NBA series under the current media rights deal, Green will be on hand for at least the first two games.

Earlier this year, with the Warriors flailing, Green was said to be eyeing other media gigs. Golden State managed to sneak into the playoffs but was bounced by the Minnesota Timberwolves in five games in the Western Conference semifinals.

Inside the NBA will move to ESPN next season as part of the league’s new media rights deal, making Green’s future with the show all the more uncertain.
