Manchester United are weighing up all their options when looking at rebuilding their squad for Ruben Amorim this season.

With players like Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen leaving at the end of their contract, and replacements being scouted for Rasmus Hojlund and Andre Onana, the club’s starting eleven could look very different next season.

However, United’s limited funds are providing a real challenge to remodel the squad to the extent that is needed after this year’s catastrophic season.

It’s understood that United are prioritising the signing of Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap, with £92.5 million available for the club to trigger the pair’s release clauses.

Unfortunately, for other signings, The Red Devils will need to prioritise free transfers or make some major sales.

With regards to the free agent aspect though, United are continuing to target one of their former midfielders as he now bids farewell to his current club.

The Sun has reported that United are still interested in re-signing former midfielder Angel Gomes after his incredible form with LOSC Lille.

The England international joined the French club back in 2020 after rising through the United academy and leaving on a free transfer.

Now, four years, 134 appearances, ten goals and 19 assists later, Gomes is bidding farewell to the Ligue 1 side as he looks to find his next club.

Taking to Instagram, the attacking midfielder wrote: “After four unforgettable years at LOSC Lille, it’s time for me to say goodbye.

“This club has been more than just a team — it’s been a family, a home, and a place that has shaped me both on and off the pitch.

“Like any journey, there were ups and downs, highs and lows, but I’m truly grateful to my team-mates and the fans for sticking with me throughout.

“I’m proud of what we achieved together and thankful for every moment.

“To the fans — thank you for your amazing support and for believing in me. I will forever be grateful.

“I always gave everything I had for the badge and for all of you.

“Lille will always have a special place in my heart.”

Now, the 24-year-old could be set to return across the channel with United, West Ham and Tottenham all hoping to lure him to the Premier League.
