WWE SmackDown Viewership Decreases On 5/16, Demo Also Drops

WWE SmackDown saw a decrease in viewership on May 16 against the NHL and NBA Playoffs.

According to Wrestlenomics, SmackDown averaged 1.290 million viewers on Friday. The show drew a 0.36 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The viewership is down from last week’s episode, when an average of 1.455 million viewers tuned in. The demo also dropped from last week’s show (0.41 rating in the same demographic).

What happened on WWE SmackDown this week?

This week’s show kicked off with a promo from Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and JC Mateo. They were interrupted by LA Knight, who got some shots in before escaping.

Alexa Bliss and Solo Sikoa won their respective triple threat matches to qualify for the Men’s and Women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches.

Elsewhere on the show, Aleister Black faced Carmelo Hayes again, this time winning via disqualification after The Miz got involved.

In the main event of the evening, Tiffany Stratton defeated Nia Jax to retain the WWE Women’s Championship.
