WWE has revealed this NBA star as the brand new 2K25 playable character.
Earlier this year, WWE 2K25 released to several great reviews on both PC and the next-gen consoles. The initial game release included the base game, with subsequent DLCs scheduled for release throughout the year.
Earlier this month, on 14th May, 2K25 released its first DLC called the ‘New Wave Pack’, which featured Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia, The Motor City Machine Guns, and one special celebrity guest who is yet to be announced.
Ahead of the next DLC release date on June 25th, 2025, WWE has revealed one of its mystery stars. The upcoming ‘Dunk & Destruction Pack’ is set to contain The Great Khali, Abyss, and three unannounced NBA stars. Tonight, during the 19th May episode of Raw, one such mystery character was revealed.
It was announced during the episode that the NBA’s Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton will be a playable character in WWE 2K25. An exclusive first look at his character was also shared on X(Twitter). No other specific details about the in-game character were shared.
Tyrese Haliburton also has merch available on the WWE Shop for fans to purchase. Haliburton is also a playable character in the 2K NBA video game series.
Last year, the focus was on the NFL and Pat McAfee’s friends, while this year, the DLC is a bit focused on basketball.

Later this month, on 22nd May 2025, the Indiana Pacers will take on the New York Knicks in the NBA conference finals game one. Last year, in 2024, the Pacers defeated the Knicks in seven games to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.
During his WWE 2K25 playable character announcement, Haliburton appeared in an interview on WWE Raw and addressed the upcoming Pacers vs Knicks match, before comparing it with the iconic The Rock vs Steve Austin feud.
“I knew that we would probably have to see the Knicks again down the line after the series last year. I didn’t know when, but I knew it would happen eventually. Here we are. This is a special rivalry that I’m excited to be part of and keep adding chapters to it. I’m looking forward to it.
Obviously, it’s been a special rivalry dating back to the 90s. It’s like Rock-Austin almost. Fans love this stuff. I’m excited to be part of it. Last year, I don’t think I knew necessarily what I was getting into, I knew it was going to be a competitive series. now, understanding the hatred between the fanbases and how serious of a rivalry this is, it’s a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to playing against these guys again. It’s going to be a fun series. I’m ready.”
