It will be a big summer for Leeds United as they prepare for life back in the Premier League.
The Whites earned promotion back to the top table this season, grabbing the Championship title with a last minute winner in the final game just a matter of weeks ago.
The celebrations have now died down and the work behind the scenes have started ahead of the start of the new season in August. Manager Daniel Farke has now been backed following surprise talk over his future.
It looks set to be a busy transfer window with the club already linked with several different players a matter of weeks before the window officially opens.
With that in mind, here’s a look at a couple of the latest stories from in and around Elland Road.
Junior Firpo transfer lifeline
Junior Firpo could be given a transfer lifeline with Lazio linked with an interest in the Leeds man, amid a twist surrounding a potential move to Real Betis.
The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with the Spanish club, but there has since bee reports suggesting that Firpo is not of interest in the summer transfer window. That could of course, see him stay at Leeds.
But latest reports now suggest that another team are instead showing an interest. According to Il Tempo (via LaLazioSiamoNoi ), the Italian club are now eyeing a possible move for Firpo with the full-back out of contract this summer.
LeedsLive says : Leeds have confirmed that Firpo remains in discussions over a new deal with the club, but is yet to sign new terms. He has voiced his desire to stay at Elland Road beyond his current deal, but continues to be linked with several clubs.
For Leeds, they will be hoping that his future is sorted one way or another sooner rather than later.
New striker link
Leeds United have been credited with an interest in Union Saint-Gilloise striker Promise David, according to Sky Sports . The striker has scored 22 goals in 39 games this season, and that has prompted interest from several clubs.
Leeds, alongside Brighton and Hove Albion are named among the clubs interested. It is however said that the Belgian club are keen for the striker to sign a new deal which will involve a release clause. His current deal expires next summer.
David is said to be keen to assess him options, with him available for around £16.8 million.
LeedsLive says : Following promotion to the Premier League, Leeds are likely to need to strengthen their attacking options this summer. They have been linked with the likes of Callum Wilson and Everton’s Beto.
It’s an area where the Whites may need to prioritise this summer, with Joel Piroe untested at Premier League level and uncertainty over the future of Patrick Bamford.
