Arne Slot admitted there was little margin for error as he saw Liverpool lose 3-2 at Brighton
Arne Slot gave his assessment of Liverpool's fringe players after the 3-2 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion, conceding that even a small drop in quality results in Premier League defeats. And the Reds head coach believes that the three matches his side have gone without winning after clinching the title speaks to the quality of the English top flight.
Slot made several high profile changings for the trip to Brighton, benching captain Virgil van Dijk for the first time this season and handing Federico Chiesa has maiden Premier League start of the campaign.
Despite leading the game twice through goals from Harvey Elliott and Dominik Szoboszlai, Liverpool would fall to defeat after Jack Hinshelwood's late strike was confirmed as onside after a VAR check.

Asked what he learned about his side after the match, Slot explained how "close margins" made all the difference.
He said: "I wouldn't say (I've learned) more because if you work with them for 10 months it would be a bit strange if you learned new things, but for me I think I saw many things that I already knew and one of them is how close the margins are throughout the whole of the season and now with us failing to score the third and missing just two or three percent in the final defensive third, it leads to us losing games of football.
"And I know it's against Chelsea and I know it's against Brighton and we didn't lose against Arsenal, but we won this league because we've been so consistent and we've done so many things right.
"But we haven't won it in a way like Manchester City did in the last four seasons, where they could close their eyes and be 4-0 up.
"We're very close in terms of quality with all the teams we competed with, that's why it's such a big compliment that we won the league by such a big margin.
"Especially because we've had our injuries throughout the season as well. To lead by 12 is a big compliment to our players."
