West Ham will listen to offers for Mohammed Kudus ahead of the summer transfer window, according to their former scout.

Mick Brown, who also worked as the chief scout at Man United and Blackburn and remains very well-connected within the game, exclusively told Football Insider that Graham Potter is prepared to move on without the 24-year-old.

The Ghana international has struggled to impress this season, picking up four goals and three assists in 31 Premier League games while the Hammers have struggled.

His underwhelming performances have led to a growing belief that they could cash in and use the money to reinvest in strengthening Potter’s squad.

This comes after Football Insider revealed West Ham plan to back Potter in the transfer window despite a dismal season since his appointment.

However, with clubs unlikely to pay his £80million release clause, Brown told Football Insider West Ham will accept offers for Kudus below his release clause value.

Mohammed Kudus eyes West Ham exit after release clause twist

Brown told Football Insider that Kudus is interested in a move to Liverpool, who are believed to be among the clubs tracking his situation.

The former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has now questioned whether top clubs will be willing to pay big money for him.

“West Ham will listen to offers for Kudus,” he told Football Insider.

“He hasn’t put in the performances expected of him this summer and Potter would be prepared to let him go because he’s not making an impact.

“He’s got this £80million release clause, but that doesn’t matter if nobody will pay it.

“There are clubs keeping an eye on his situation, but there are doubts about what he might cost.

“Kudus has had a very disappointing season, there’s no doubt about that, and he hasn’t shown these clubs why they should spend big money on him.

“But from a West Ham point of view, they would like to make money from his sale.

*“They want to improve their squad and back the manager, so selling Kudus would help with that.*“

Aaron Ramsdale update emerges at the London Stadium

Kudus is not the only player who could be replaced at the London Stadium next season, as Alphonse Areola has also been widely criticised.

Football Insider revealed on 11 May that West Ham want to sign Aaron Ramsdale from Southampton, who is seen as an upgrade on their current number one.

The England international has a £25million release clause in his contract at St Mary’s and has put a number of clubs on alert over his availability.

However, Brown told Football Insider West Ham will assess other priorities before making a move for Ramsdale as they plot a potential squad overhaul.
