Graham Potter, like most coaches, seems to have his favourites: Just ask [Evan Ferguson who](https://www.claretandhugh.info/evan-fergusons-striking-timely-reminder/) seems unable to catch a break from his former Brighton boss. I’m tempted to suggest Ferguson must have reversed into Potter’s car in the players car park, such is his Managers antipathy to him. another player for whom th send o this season cannot come soon enough. I fully expect to see him move to Moyes’ Everton and become a world class striker again..
Another who cannot seem to impress Potter is **Andy Irving**. Seemingly forgotten in the squad, Irving is the enigma who seems to one the Hammers’ nearly man – always on the fringe, ever enthusiastic, reportedly living the dream but can’t get a game.
At least his International side appear to have decided Irving is worth persevering with – his call up to the Scotland International Squad was reported by [whufc.com](https://www.whufc.com/news/internationals-irving-named-steve-clarkes-scotland-squad) – maybe former Hammers assistant manager Steve Clark gets word from inside the West Ham camp but Irving will again get his chance to impress on the international stage rather than the domestic.
Irving ” _could win his first caps for the senior side at Hampden Park, Glasgow, where Scotland take on Heimir Hallgrímsson’s Iceland on Friday 6 June at: 7.45pm BST. The Tartan Army then visit Vaduz, Liechtenstein, to face Konrad Fünfstück’s Liechtenstein at Rheinpark Stadion on Monday 9 June at 5pm local time (6pm) BST.”_
Fingers crossed for Irving to get his first cap and show Potter – and the rest of us – what we are missing.
