Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi lifted the FA Cup on Saturday, months after Newcastle United won the Carabao Cup.
This season has seen two teams win major domestic cup honours for the first time in their history. Newcastle won the Carabao Cup in March for the first time ever, while Palace won the FA Cup, which was their first major trophy altogether.
It has been a brilliant season for Guehi at Palace. Newcastle tried to sign Guehi in 2024 but failed in their pursuit, and he’s since gone on to make history at Selhurst Park.
Still, Guehi could leave Palace this summer. Newcastle remain interested in the 24-year-old, who will be out of contract in the summer of 2026.

Marc Guehi to Newcastle United latest after FA Cup development
According to The Standard, Palace are still expecting Guehi to be sold this summer despite lifting the FA Cup.
Manager Oliver Glasner is said to be aligned with the club’s hierarchy in the expectation the former Chelsea youngster will be sold at the end of the season.
The report again confirms that Newcastle remain interested in the England international, and that there is no prospect of him signing a new deal at Palace.
His sale is said to be part of a plan to fund the enhancement of their squad ahead of next season’s European campaign.

Marc Guehi’s message to Newcastle United star Dan Burn
Had the Palace defender moved to St James’ Park last summer, he would surely have partnered Dan Burn at some point this season.
Guehi admitted Newcastle star Burn has impressed him this season when speaking after the Toon star made his England debut back in March.
Next season, perhaps they will unite at club level. Burn has been excellent since moving back into central defence from left-back, where Lewis Hall continues to shine when fully fit.
Real Madrid want to sign Guehi for free in 2026 but, hopefully, Newcastle can finally get a deal over the line this summer.
