Everton are doing “everything they can” to agree a suitable new contract with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, sources have told Football Insider.

The 28-year-old’s current deal is set to expire at the end of June alongside several other top Toffees stars.

In a new twist, Everton have confirmed Ashley Young, Asmir Begovic and Joao Virginia will all depart at the end of their contracts next month.

The Merseysiders are yet to provide clarity on the futures of Calvert-Lewin, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Idrissa Gueye or Michael Keane.

Everton still have hope of keeping Calvert-Lewin

Sources say Everton still have hope they can persuade Calvert-Lewin to agree a new deal and talks are ongoing with the England international.

He has been with the Toffees since joining from Sheffield United in August 2016.
