Report: 'Important' Everton player makes sudden contract U-turn, Moyes personally working for…

Everton have made some movement in their contract debacle after their announcements over the weekend.

David Moyes will be parting ways with at least three of his players on Merseyside with Ashley Young, Joao Virgínia and Asmir Begovic set to leave.

Plenty of decisions still need to be made, though.

Young has spoken about his Everton exit ahead of the summer after it was suggested he was actually going to be one of the players to remain on Merseyside.

Further announcements are going to be expected over the coming days now Everton have just one game remaining

There is one player, in particular, who Moyes is believed to be working on as he would love to keep him around for the move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

David Moyes working on Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s Everton future

Dominic Calvert-Lewin shared his Goodison Park farewell message over the weekend with his future still hanging in the balance.

The striker is leaving it late to determine whether he will remain on Merseyside for the 2025/26 campaign.

It has been another difficult campaign for Calvert-Lewin, but there was a glimpse of what could be when he scored under Moyes against Tottenham Hotspur.

Calvert-Lewin’s agent has sought fresh contract talks with Everton earlier in the month, which may be an encouraging sign.

But nothing is yet to be decided with the ‘important‘ striker currently holding the cards as he has interest from elsewhere.

Everton still want to sign a new striker

Regardless of Calvert-Lewin’s future, Everton are prioritising a new striker this summer when the market opens for business.

And that will be music to the ears of the Everton fans considering the issues Calvert-Lewin has endured over recent years.

Adding to that, Beto is receiving interest from Besiktas with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer interested in signing the 26-year-old.

Additions are certainly needed at Everton this summer, but it seems Moyes is keen to keep his injury-riddled striker around for at least another season.
