West Ham 'Considering' Loan To Buy Offer For £34M Rated Dutch Ace Who Has Scored Just 7 Goals This Season

West Ham are weighing up a bid for Ajax forward Brian Brobbey, according to reports in the Spanish media.

Catalan publication Mundo Deportivo claims that the Hammers and Tottenham are both “considering” tabling loan offers for the Netherlands international, with an option to buy at the end of next season.

Brobbey has been linked with a move to the London Stadium before, although their main competition for the player previously came from Manchester United.

Mundo Deportivo report that Spurs and (potentially) Everton are likely to pose the biggest threat to West Ham’s plans to signing the 23-year-old this summer.

Moyes wants Brobbey

It is believed that former West Ham manager David Moyes is looking to secure the Dutchman’s services for Everton. However, unlike the Irons and Tottenham, the Toffees may be willing to purchase him outright for around €40m (£34m).

That type of proposal would be looked at more favourably by Ajax but there is no guarantee that a bid will be lodged at this stage.

It it thought that Everton’s priority is to bring Richarlison back to Merseyside and they will only pursue a move for Brobbey if their attempts to sign the Brazilian fail.

West Ham may decide to pursue alternatives

Brobbey’s form this season has been pretty poor. The striker has only found the back of the net 7 times in 44 appearances, which is a stark contrast to last campaign when he scored 22 goals.

Some may argue that it is merely a blip but his lack of consistency will be a concern for head coach Graham Potter, who needs to have someone up front who can convert chances on a consistent basis.

The Hammers are looking at other forwards. Lille’s Jonathan David, Crystal Palace’s Jean Philippe Mateta, Strasbourg’s Emanuel Emegha and Ipswich’s Liam Delap are just some of the other names under consideration.
