Leeds United's Largie Ramazani sends message to England international after free agent…

Leeds United’s return to the Premier League should see them dip into the free agent market to pad out the squad with the right quality to take on the survival battle, and announcements are coming left and right on players leaving their clubs.

Daniel Farke has 11 days between now and the start of the transfer window as he looks to take on the Premier League with more ambition than he was able to at Norwich City twice.

Bridging the gap to the Premier League clubs that are staying up would require a lot of signings and experience, which may lend itself to looking into the free agents that are being announced as leaving their clubs this summer.

Should Leeds United make a move for Angel Gomes on a free?

With Joe Rothwell’s loan concluding and the likelihood being that he won’t be signed up on a permanent deal from Bournemouth, it means the Whites will have to pursue a midfield signing or two during June.

Looking to the free agent market of midfielders this summer, Lille and England midfielder Angel Gomes might be one that heads into the Premier League for next season, announcing his exit from the Ligue 1 club this week.

A diminutive presence in midfield standing at 5ft6in, he might not be of the stature Leeds would require in their squad, but his versatility to not only play as a deep-lying playmaker as well as an attacking midfielder might make him a shrewd pickup for free.

Leeds United winger Largie Ramazani sends message to free agent Angel Gomes

As Gomes looks to embark on a new chapter of his career after confirming he’ll be leaving the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, he received a lot of messages from teammates past and present wishing him well.

Among those was his former Manchester United youth teammate and current Leeds star Largie Ramazani:

Leeds United must dip into the free agent market to bulk up the squad with quality

Angel Gomes is merely an example of what’s out there, but he’d certainly improve our squad in midfield if he were to sign.

Whether or not he’s the right profile for what we’d need, or indeed whether he’d be up for joining one of the favourites for relegation remains to be seen.

That being said, it’s an area of the market that Leeds have to pay attention to, knowing tat we have a lot of signings to make and limited budget to do so thanks to PSR.
