On Monday, Sport reported Liverpool’s Luis Díaz is remains attracted to Barcelona. They also reported the Catalan club could be able to pay €80m in the summer window if their financial conditions were to improve.
The Colombia international’s contract lasts until 2027 and he recently expressed his desire to extend his stay with the Reds. He also insisted the final decision will be down to Liverpool. Despite this, he continues to be linked to Barcelona.
Hansi Flick’s side are looking for a new attacker and the Liverpool player is said to be on their agenda.
AS relay claims about the La Liga winners’ interest in the 28-year-old and comments from former Barcelona scout Bojan Krkić Sr. He’s been speaking to Cadena Ser’s El Bar de Sique, telling the Spanish giants not to sign Díaz.
Krkić Sr believes the Liverpool player is inconsistent and that Barcelona should stay away from him.
“Díaz is a great player, but he lacks consistent performance. If I were at Barca, I wouldn’t sign him,” he said.
“I followed him when he was at Porto and now at Liverpool. He’s a player who does wonders for you, then disappears for three games, or in one game, he gives you a brutal half-hour and disappears. At Porto, he was even a substitute, and at Liverpool, it’s also that.”
Díaz has scored 17 goals and registered eight assists from 49 games in all competitions this season. He managed a goal and two assists between January and April before starting to impress for the Reds.
Across the past seven games for Liverpool, Díaz has managed four goals and an assist.
