Leeds United urged to complete Everton transfer to solve Daniel Farke problem amid Roma interest

Leeds United and Roma are eyeing up a summer move for Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure. That is according to Africa Foot, with the Mali star approaching the end of his Toffees contract.

Although Doucoure's Everton future has not yet been detailed by the club, his exit midway through the second half of Sunday's comfortable home win over Southampton had the hallmarks of an emotional goodbye. Doucoure has written his name into club folklore since joining from Watford in 2020, scoring important goals under Sean Dyche and David Moyes to help steer the club to safety through the turbulence of recent years.

But Doucoure's deal runs out at the end of June and the 32-year-old reportedly has offers on the table from Saudi Arabia. Ex- Mali international Mahamadou N’Diaye reckons Doucoure would be a "great addition" for Premier League new boys Leeds.

“Doucoure is a top player who can continue his career in the Premier League with another club," said N’Diaye, who is currently at French club Eclaron. "Physically, still performing well and is one of the best in his position in Europe, a player who has a healthy lifestyle.

“He knows the Premier League well. He’s one of the most experienced players in the league. So, he could be a great addition to Leeds United. All depends on the club’s interest and his desire to stay in England.”

N’Diaye added: “Everything will depend on the club’s interest, but also on the player’s desire to stay in England. I think he’ll think carefully about making the best choice for his career."

It is widely expected the Whites will dip into the market to bolster their central midfield options this summer. Josuha Guilavogui will officially leave the club next month while loan star Joe Rothwell has returned to Bournemouth. Ilia Gruev, Ao Tanaka and Ethan Ampadu United's current midfield options.
