Manchester United might be preparing for a culling of the squad in the summer but one player has staked his claim to stay with a tall statement that he can be “one of the best in the world”.
Not many Man Utd fans will weep if the majority of the squad exits in the summer and makes way for players more suited to the Ineos philosophy.
However, there are certain untouchables at the club, like Bruno Fernandes, Amad, Manuel Ugarte, or even the likes of Diogo Dalot or Harry Maguire.
A player can go a long way towards setting a bar for himself in the future by claiming he can eventually be “one of the best in the world”, which is what one player has done.

Man Utd star’s bold claim
Fans would likely welcome confident claims from a squad that has become somewhat of a specialist in providing lip service before losing a game.
One player who doesn’t fall into that category is Amad, the Ivorian who has had a breakout season this year despite coming through difficult circumstances.
Amad’s miraculous injury recovery and subsequent form have cemented him as one of the untouchables for the summer and his comments add further strength to that.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Amad has claimed that he can eventually be “one of the best in the world”.

He said: “I believe in my potential. I believe I can be one of the best in the world. I just have to give my best every game. That’s it. But I think I believe in my potential.”
Amad’s claim is not unfounded
It might sound a bit exaggerated coming from a player whose team is 16th in the table and the player is already 22, but Amad’s journey has been different.
He has had to come through multiple loan spells and a period of extreme uncertainty at Man Utd under previous managers.
That has delayed his breakout but made him a mentality monster who has never shirked away from working hard, the results of which are clear to see now.
Amad is the most difficult to defend in training so his teammates are clear fans as well, and his professionalism has now impressed Ruben Amorim after Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Amad even thanked Erik ten Hag which speaks volumes about his character, and his ever-improving form adds to the full package.
It is not an unfair comment to say that Amad will be the talisman of the next great Man Utd team. He deserves it after such a journey full of upheaval.
