Wolves are coming to the end of what has been a very turbulent campaign.
Wanderers thankfully have no worries going into their final two matches of the Premier League season, after Vitor Pereira steered the club away from the relegation zone.
But at one point, the situation at Molineux looked bleak.
Wolves were languishing in the relegation zone at Christmas, and many felt only one outcome was possible after the horrible start under Gary O’Neil.
But Pereira has transformed the club’s fortunes, guiding Wolves to safety weeks before the end of the season.
Fans now want to see Wolves kick on, with so many similar clubs enjoying successful seasons in 2024/25. And one such club is Crystal Palace, who have just won the FA Cup.

Wolves have so much potential.
Arguably, on paper, Wanderers have one of the best squads outside the traditional ‘Big Six’ clubs.
Now, they are instructed by a top manager and fans are optimistic the good times can return at Molineux.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
And Pereira is clearly ambitious given what he was talking about yesterday in his press conference ahead of the game with Palace.
The Wolves manager admits the Eagles are a club Wolves should be looking to follow the example of, saying of their consistency: “Palace were there [the FA Cup final] because they deserved it, because they are consistent.
“This is the kind of team that we need to be next season, that I want, but our title this season was to transform our situation into a better situation. But it cannot be the same. In my opinion, we must next season be consistent from the beginning to dream with other things.
“I’m painting. I’m in the process. I hope next season to create something stronger, more consistent, and to improve the level. I don’t believe that you can finish the work in a team, because it’s something alive that you can improve every time.”
Pereira – who also praised Oliver Glasner – spoke of the need to be consistent next season several times if Wolves are to kick on under him.
Wolves can do big things under Pereira
It has obviously not been the season Wolves fans had hoped for, but Pereira has given the supporters genuine reason to be excited going into 2025/26.
We have seen clubs like Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Brighton enjoy brilliant campaigns this term and Wolves undoubtedly should be in the group of clubs.
With the talent they have, European football should be the aim.
Some will feel that is now a distinct possibility with Pereira at the helm.
But of course, he will not achieve that if he doesn’t get the right backing from his superiors. Fosun love their self-sustaining model, but there has to be a little bit of flexibility if Wolves are to break the mould.
