Liverpool working to snatch 17-year-old ahead of Atalanta and Torino–Talent could be set for Reds

Palermo youngster Gioacchino Barranco has impressed for the club’s U19s side this season and has now attracted attention from Liverpool.

The 17-year-old left-back has played 22 times in the Palermo Primavera side. Last season, he broke into the U17s side and this led to him getting called up to the U19s side later in the campaign.

An exit from Palermo could be on the cards for the teenager and ILovePalermoCalcio have reported about his future.

They state the Italian side are preparing to lose the young full-back in the summer and he has attracted the attention of Liverpool. The Reds are ‘moving in the background’ for the starlet and are preparing to snatch him in the summer.

Liverpool’s task will not be easy. They will face competition from both Atalanta and Torino, who are trying to close a deal for Barranco as soon as possible.

There is clearly a tussle going on, with the outlet stating with some certainty that an exit in the summer is very much on the cards for the defender.
