Manchester United’s summer transfer window is already shaping up to be a strong one.

After a poor season domestically, Manchester United are looking to rebuild this summer, and already, some exciting moves are being made.

Ineos‘ strategy of signing youth will continue with Diego Leon agreeing to join United from Cerro Porteno, which will see him arrive next month.

Additionally, an agreement to sign Frenchman Enzo Kana-Biyik has been reached for when he becomes a free agent in July.

There will be additions beyond the academy, though, with United very close to signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves, which is widely expected to be completed over the coming days.

In addition, United have been holding face-to-face talks with Liam Delap, however, the Ipswich striker is expected to want to wait and see the outcome of the Europa League final.

The report claims that Cherki is now on United’s list, with interest being expressed over a move. This follows Cherki announcing he will leave Lyon last week.

There is sure to be a lot of competition, considering Cherki is available for just £19m this summer, according to the report.

This price tag, compared with the player with the qualities of Cherki, means he could very well be seen as the bargain of the summer for whoever manages to sign him.

On his Old Trafford performance in April, Cherki impressed many, including Rio Ferdinand.

Rayan Cherki previously impressed at Old Trafford

Cherki scored against United twice over the two-leg tie in the Europa League quarter-final, but it was at the Theatre of Dreams that he shone bright.

Speaking on MUTV after this game, pundit Wes Brown raved about the performance of Cherki.

“Their best chance came through Cherki, and you can’t be running like that past four or five players. He’s got the capability of doing that, he’s one of the brightest young stars in the world at the moment. There will be lots of teams looking at him this summer.”

In addition, on the broadcast, Helen Evans said: “Turned into a little Messi, didn’t he!”, in relation to a mazy Cherki dribble.

While putting in this impressive performance at Old Trafford, Ferdinand noticed Cherki doing something unique.

“Wow, what a talent, by the way, Cherki is taking corners with both feet.”

Clearly a massive talent, and for just £19m, it could be too good to refuse.
