Manchester City make enquiry for Milos Kerkez

It seems Liverpool FC have some competition for Milos Kerkez in the form of rivals Manchester City

The 21-year-old Hungarian international has emerged as the Reds’ top target for the left-back position, with Bournemouth valuing him at around £45–50m.

The significant price tag represents a considerable increase on Liverpool’s previous left-back investments, with Andy Robertson costing just £8 million and Kostas Tsimikas signed for £11.75 million.

However, with Robertson now 31 and showing signs of decline after years of consistent service, the club’s recruitment team appears willing to make a substantial investment in Kerkez’s potential.

Milos Kerkez’s switch to agent Fali Ramadani – who oversaw Federico Chiesa’s transfer to Liverpool in 2024 – could make negotiations for a potential move to Anfield more straightforward.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth owner Bill Foley has already stated he won’t block any players from leaving this summer, with the club needing to sell some squad members to help replenish the coffers are completing their brand new £32 million training center earlier this season.

But now Mark Douglas of the iPaper has claimed that it will not be straightforward for the Reds, reporting that Manchester City have now imposed themselves on the situation:

“Manchester City want Bournemouth’s £45m-rated left-back Milos Kerkez – setting up a potential transfer battle with fellow suitors Liverpool.”

“The Reds have long been considered the frontrunners to sign the Hungary international, who is viewed as a potential successor to the experienced Andy Robertson.”

“But it is understood that City have made enquiries and are now viewed as genuine rivals for his signature.”

Pep Guardiola is said to want a natural left-back heading into next season.

While Josko Gvardiol has played at left-back and Nico O’Reilly admirably filled in during the FA Cup final, Guardiola seeks a specialist.

Bournemouth’s recent £50 million sale of Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid has bolstered their financial position, allowing them to hold out for their valuation of £45m.

Manchester City and Liverpool were poised to likewise tussle over the transfer of Florian Wirtz, before the Cityzens pulled out due to financial concerns.
