There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Goztepe are looking to target Southampton defender Armel Bella-Kotchap.
With the Saints’ relegation back to the Championship, it’s inevitable multiple players will leave the club during the coming transfer window.
Fotospor report Bella-Kotchap could be another Southampton owned player who ends up signing for the Super Lig side.
Southampton and Goztepe are both owned by Sport Republic and this has seen Saints players being transferred to the Turkish club over the past couple of seasons.
It’s claimed the German central defender doesn’t want to play in the Championship next season and this has led to speculation he could move. The Turkish media outlet also report Southampton could extend his contract and then loan him to Goztepe.
Goztepe have also been linked with his Southampton teammate Joe Aribo, with claims last week he was close to signing for the Izmir club.
Bella-Kotchap made just five appearances last season, with four of those coming in the Premier League. He’s contracted to the English side until June 2026.
Juan Silva and Kuryu Matsuki will return to Southampton after their season long loan spells with Goztepe.
