Despite succumbing to a 3-2 defeat against Brighton on Monday night, the Reds’ title celebrations were still in full swing in the away end.
While the defeat means Liverpool will no longer be able to reach the points tally of last season’s top two, nothing could dampen the mood among the jubilant supporters.

Indeed, Gary Neville was still complimentary of Liverpool after the game, picking out Slot’s performance this campaign for one reason in particular.

Gary Neville is often fairly cynical of Liverpool, but there’s no denying that this season, the Reds have been the best team in England.
Without Slot’s leadership, it doesn’t feel likely that Liverpool would be in as strong a position as they currently find themselves.
Speaking live on Sky Sports after the game, Neville gave his verdict on the Dutchman’s performance this term.
“[Slot’s] made up for [replacing Jurgen Klopp’s personality] and more and compensated with it with his composure, a little bit of steely determination, some big decisions, how he’s managed the three contract situations throughout the whole season,” Neville said.

As mentioned, it’s hard to put into words how impressive it is for Slot to have won the Premier League title at the first time of asking.
The last few years have been filled with Manchester City’s dominance, and to be quite frank, it felt unlikely that they’d slow down any time soon.

However, due to many different factors such as Rodri’s injury and players such as Phil Foden failing to perform to their best standard, Liverpool managed to find their way to the top of the Premier League once again.
Improvements for next season already seem to be underway with the transfer of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen edging ever closer.
Others, such as Florian Wirtz and Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez, have also been linked with a switch to Anfield, which, compared to previous seasons, feels like massive news.
Only time will tell what the future holds, but even if Slot only brings in Kerkez and Frimpong this summer, it’ll more than show that he means business and that the Reds are here to stay and fight at the top of the table.
