Aston Villa are ‘back in the game’ to sign Loïc Badé from Sevilla after ‘pushing the hardest’ during the January transfer window for him.
That’s according to Super Deporte, who report that Aston Villa are back in the mix for the defender despite being turned down by him previously.
They report that this year seems destined to be the last for Badé at Sevilla, with him having been on the verge of leaving on several occasions already. That was more from the club trying to make a big profit from a sale to shore up their shaky accounts.
This year a move seems inevitable as Sevilla still need significant sales and Badé is the obvious player to be sold.
Aston Villa are the one who are ‘pushing the hardest’ to secure his signature, with Monchi leading the negotiations. Those negotiations with his former club shouldn’t be a problem, nor should convincing the player. The latter is because Aston Villa are seen s one of the emerging clubs in the Premier League and will compete in Europe again next season in some capacity.
That, though, completely ignores the fact that Badé reportedly turned down Aston Villa in January after something of a circus developed around the Frenchman.
Aston Villa would be unwise to get involved in that again unless there is confidence on all parts that the deal is there to be done and quickly.
