A story is floating around that Jurgen Klopp could return to the world of football management to take the job of AS Roma boss.
When the German coach left Anfield, it was because he felt the strain of managing a Premier League club for nine years and needed to take a break to protect his health and sanity.
While he said he was aware that “cannot do the job again and again and again and again,” many fans seem to have taken that as meaning the 57-year-old will never again manage.
So when he took the role of Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull, some fans were annoyed.
Klopp replied to the noise: “I always want to try to learn new styff and I felt when I heard aboiut the role that’s what I would do.
“I no longer have to improve the game in individual places, but I want to make football better all over the world. No longer prepare a new game very week, but work on the bigger picture.”
Now, Klopp’s agent has had to dispel rumours about his client.
Kloppo’s agent says Jurgen is not accepting a job from AS Roma
According to Italian newspaper La Stampa, Klopp is ready to turn to the training ground and is set to become AS Roma’s next manager.
This is not true – says his agent.
While talking to Arabic outlet winwin, agent Marc Kosicke denied the claims.
“Klopp coaching Roma?” Kosicke, said. “This news is not true.”
Hilariously, the real reason for the origin of the story has been blamed by La Stampa as a spoof.
La Stampa retracted their exclusive claim and curiously blamed a video on social media which used letters from the names of famous Roman monuments like Kolosseum Lupa, Olimpico, Pietro San, Pantheon – or K L O P P.
La Stampa’s statement reads: “The club this morning, after La Stampa relaunched the case, categorically denied: the German coach, a world icon after his years at Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund, will not sit on the Giallorossi bench.”
