Over the past week or so, there’s been talk that Manchester City are set to make an initial offer, of around €55m, for AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders.
The Rossoneri want more than that, but the idea of a potential sale in the summer hasn’t been dismissed.
Gazzetta dello Sport report on the midfielder’s future and state that there is ‘no talk’ at Milan about the possibility of Reijnders’ sale to Manchester City. The 26-year-old is also said to be in love with his current club.
They believe that no offer has come forward, even if there is a lot of confidence that the Citizens are courting the Dutchman.
The newspaper states that an approach can arrive but it will not even be close to Milan’s demand of around €70m. That is the amount that the Rossoneri to start negotiations.
Manchester City may have to pay the Italian giants a club record fee, with the level currently at €67m from Kaka’s sale to Real Madrid.
The indication is that Milan are firm in their stance and it will not be easy for the former English champions to land the star midfielder.
This all feels like AC Milan sources trying to drag the situation back after a few days of the Italian media making a transfer sound relatively easy.
