According to a claim in the Turkish media, Galatasaray are showing interest in Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.
The Argentina international could leave the Premier League side at the end of the season and has also recently been linked with Gala’s local rivals Fenerbahce.
[Takvim](https://www.takvim.com.tr/bugunku-takvim/2025/05/20/martinez-bombasi-cimbom-aston-villanin-arjantinli-file-bekcisi-icin-harekete-gecti) report on Galatasaray’s pursuit for a new No.1, with veteran Fernando Muslera’s contract expiring in the summer. The Uruguayan wants to move back to his home country due to family reasons, and it’ll be a big goodbye to someone considered a legend of the club.
It’s claimed Martinez has emerged as an option for Galatasaray and that the Super Lig champions will make an attempt to sign the 32-year-old.
The Turkish media outlet say Galatasaray are looking to hold transfer talks with Aston Villa in the coming days and that an offer is being lined up.
However, given the reported interest in the Argentine this would be an ambitious move from Cimbom, as is the case with Fenerbahce’s links with the player.
Earlier this month [we covered reports](https://sportwitness.co.uk/club-lining-ambitious-e20m-offer-for-aston-villa-star-e6m-salary-on-the-table/) that the Istanbul side will be in the market for top class goalkeepers in the summer. Fener are parting ways with Dominik Livakovic at the end of the season and Jose Mourinho wants to bring in a replacement for the Croatian.
Emiliano Martinez appearing to say his goodbyes to Aston Villa after the last match has encouraged rumours to pop up regarding the goalkeeper, and also encouraged clubs to believe they may have a chance.
