Two games of the 2024/25 season remain for Wolves, and then, Vitor Pereira’s full attention will turn to the transfer window.
Pereira orchestrated a successful January window in his first taste of the transfer market after taking charge in December.
Wolves signed three players in the winter market, including first-team regulars Emmanuel Agbadou and Marshall Munetsi.
There’s still a long way to go to get the squad’s depth up to scratch, particularly as the starting XI is expected to change significantly over the summer break.

Vitor Pereira urges Fosun to have the ‘best’ transfer window at Wolves
Two of Wolves’ standout players this season could leave Molineux at the end of the campaign.
Matheus Cunha is close to joining Manchester United, a transfer saga that has dragged out for months.
As well as the Brazilian, Rayan Ait-Nouri is generating interest from Manchester City, leaving Wolves with a clear job to do in the summer to replace those who depart.
Pereira made it clear that he doesn’t want to lose players as those before him have had to deal with, warning Fosun that the consistent offloading of key talent does not benefit the club.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
Ahead of Wolves’ clash with Crystal Palace, the manager referenced the transfer window once again in his pre-match press conference, insisting he has a ‘lot of work’ to do.
“I need a break. I started in Saudi Arabia. It’s not easy, it was very tough work and here very tough work. Now it’s time to rest, because we need to do a lot of work in the summer.”
Pereira’s words could be seen as somewhat of an ultimatum to Fosun, making it clear that if Wolves want the current squad to succeed under the coach, additional ‘tools’ are needed.
“I need to be on the phone, need to have meetings. I need to help the club to do the best transfer market that we can, and to create expectations.
“But we just can create expectations when we have the tools. We need these tools to increase our level.”
Fosun must be prepared to invest in a Matheus Cunha replacement
While Wolves have been linked to several players, the most prominent subject regarding the upcoming transfer window is Cunha’s future.
Wolves will make £62.5m on Cunha’s sale, with Man United ready to activate the Brazilian’s release clause.
Though the Old Gold have shown that they can cope without their star player, that doesn’t exempt Fosun from being ambitious when finding a replacement.
Pereira made it clear that he doesn’t want another season of struggle and resurgence; he wants progression, which is only possible with suitable backing and recruitment.
Losing a player who has contributed to 39% of Wolves’ Premier League goals since the start of 2023/24 is a situation that the club must be proactive about, because the consequences of not replacing his threat could be sinister.
