The Athletic have revealed that the Whites have now issued an extra £120million worth of new shares as part of an attempt to bolster the squad and fund the Elland Road expansion ahead of Leeds’ return to the Premier League.

Leeds’ move to increase cashflow into the club came immediately after promotion was confirmed, as the 49ers reached out to investors in order to strengthen the club’s chances of survival in 25/26.
The increased injection of cash allows Leeds to work more effectively in pushing through the confirmed plans to expand the West Stand and North Stand, plus ‘nailing’ transfers in the words of chairman Paraag Marathe:
“You’ve got to nail your transfers. You’ve got to nail the players that come in, that really fit the style of play you want to have, that fit the club and play together cohesively.”

Leeds United £120m injection won’t help PSR standing after promotion
The injection of £120million is undoubtedly a huge help for the 49ers coming into this summer window, but it won’t do much to change our PSR standpoint.
Our ‘profit and sustainability’ parameters won’t be affected by this new investment, but our ability to fund the expansion as soon as possible, plus several big transfers is greatly improved.
It’s an exciting summer that we have awaiting us, and updates like these only go to show that the 49ers aren’t wanting to just make up the numbers.
