Arne Slot wasn’t giving anything away when asked about the imminent arrival of Jeremie Frimpong at Liverpool.
The Bayer Leverkusen star flew into the UK on Sunday and completed his medical the following day ahead of completing his move to Anfield.
The Reds reportedly struck a deal to sign Frimpong this past weekend after triggering his release clause, which is set at €35 million (£29m).
The Netherlands international will compete with Conor Bradley for the right-back position after Trent Alexander-Arnold leaves the club this summer, although the 24-year-old can also play wing-back and right winger.
Slot tight-lipped as Frimpong completes Liverpool medical
Speaking to Sky Sports after Liverpool‘s 3-2 defeat to Brighton in the Premier League on Monday night, Slot was asked if Frimpong had indeed undergone a medical.
“What do you think?” the Dutchman responded. “I think what we all know is the moment we announce it, that is the moment to talk about it in general.
“We haven’t announced anything so no need to talk about anyone.”

The Brighton defeat was the fourth Liverpool have been dealt in the Premier League all season, although it has little consequence after securing the title last month.
“After they score the 2-2 I think the momentum swung their way and then they score the third, it was a close margin,” Slot said.
“Two very good teams were on the pitch. We didn’t score a third when we were up.
“I know these players already for 10 months, so it’s not the first time I’m judging them. It’s nice to see Harvey Elliot score a goal.
“In general it was a good game from both teams, both teams wanting to play football – no time wasting or delaying, just play football.”
