Manchester United Receive Massive Injury Boost Ahead Of Europa League Final

It has been a truly horrid season for Manchester United, but they could go some way to redeeming it with victory in Wednesday's Europa League final against Spurs in Bilbao.

The two sides lie 16th and 17th in the Premier League table, both enduring historically dreadful campaigns as both United boss Ruben Amorim and his counterpart Ange Postecoglou continue to come under renewed pressure.

Both sides long ago gave up hope of salvaging anything from the Premier League season and turned their focus solely to the Europa League. For the victors, the prize is not only a major European honour, but qualification for next season's Champions League.

Given United's precarious financial situation, it's even more imperative that they win Wednesday's game, which firmly sits as one of the most bizarre setups for a European final in modern memory.

Despite their dire domestic form, United have been surprisingly proficient in the Europa League this season, going unbeaten throughout the campaign and dispatching of the likes of Rangers, Lyon, and Athletic Bilbao.

As they prepare for Wednesday's crunch tie, United and coach Amorim have been handed a massive triple injury boost.

Three injured Manchester United players back in training ahead of Europa League final

It seems as though Ruben Amorim will be able to call on the injured trio of Diogo Dalot, Joshua Zirkzee, and Leny Yoro for Wednesday's Europa League final, with all three pictured in full team training on Tuesday.

Dalot and Zirkzee have both been out since April. After scoring in the dramatic 5-4 quarter-final win over Lyon, Dalot managed just half an hour against Wolves on April 20th, and has been missing from the matchday squad ever since.

Zirkzee, meanwhile, has not played since limping off during the 4-1 defeat at Newcastle a week prior.

In a post to his Instagram page on Tuesday afternoon, Zirkzee shared a photo of himself and Bruno Fernandes on the plane to Bilbao, seemingly confirming he will at least be involved in the United group on Wednesday.

19-year-old centre-back Yoro, one of the few positives for Manchester United this campaign, was forced off during the defeat to West Ham on May 11th, and was missing from the squad for Friday's trip to Stamford Bridge.

All three would be right in contention to start if match fit and, though they may be consigned to the bench due to a lack of match fitness, it is a major boost to Ruben Amorim to have all three back in team training on the eve of the all-Premier League decider.

Dutchman Matthijs de Ligt remains an absentee from team training and will miss Wednesday's game.

The pivotal role of the wing-backs in Amorim's divisive 3-4-2-1 system might elevate Dalot's chances of starting if the Portuguese right-back is indeed fully fit, while Yoro may slot right back in to the centre-back role he has been so impressive in during the Europa League campaign.

Zirkzee's participation is more touch-and-go. However, even if he does not start, he could play a role off the bench, especially if Rasmus Hojlund's struggles continue up front.

It is, strangely, one of the biggest games in the modern history of Manchester United, and Ruben Amorim will hope to have as many of his first-team players available as possible in Bilbao.
