Timberwolves comfortable on the road in postseason

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (Dakota News Now) - The Minnesota Timberwolves will open up the Western Conference Finals with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night (7:30 PM, ESPN).

For the first time since the opening round against the Los Angeles Lakers they won’t have homecourt advantage with OKC the #1 seed after winning a league-best 68 games.

These two split during the regular season and Minnesota certainly sounds comfortable playing on the road.

“I think it’s actually a little bit more difficult (playing at home in the playoffs). Being on the road it’s just you. It’s just you and your team and five guys on the floor. That’s it. At home there’s so many more things. You’re home with the family, you’re home with the fans. There’s a little bit more expecatation, more hype around it.” Timberwolves Guard Donte DiVincenzo says.

The Wolves record certainly seems to back that up. Minnesota is 4-1 this postseason having won three consecutive road games (their close out with the Lakers and games three and four with Golden State).

Game two of the series is Thursday night at 7:30 PM.

The series shifts to Minneapolis and Target Center on Saturday for game three. You can watch that game live on Dakota News Now and KSFY at 7:30.
