West Ham are reportedly weighing up a summer move for Inter Milan centre-back Yann Bisseck, according to [FCInterNews](https://www.fcinternews.it/in-primo-piano/bisseck-fa-gola-in-premier-west-ham-pronto-a-tornare-alla-carica-l-inter-ha-gia-un-nome-caldo-per-il-sostituto-982699).
The German defender has enjoyed a breakout season at the San Siro, earning rave reviews for his performances and attracting interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
That form has understandably raised questions over why Bisseck would consider joining a West Ham side fresh off a disappointing campaign. Yet the Hammers are said to hold genuine interest in the 24-year-old, who may be open to a [Premier League](https://www.claretandhugh.info/premier-league-bio/) switch.
However, any move to London could spark a bidding war, with Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, and Crystal Palace all reportedly ahead in the queue should Bisseck decide to leave Serie A.
He caught the eye again during last weekend’s draw between Inter and Lazio—putting in a commanding display before a late handball marred his performance.
However, the error is unlikely to dent the giant German’s growing reputation as one of Europe’s most promising up-and-coming defenders.
With Nayef Aguerd and possibly Konstantinos Mavropanos expected to depart the London Stadium this summer, West Ham will need at least one new central defender. It could also be argued that Aaron Cresswell’s belated performances in a ball-carrying role have prompted the search for a similar profile to suit a back three.
That said, it would be something of a miracle if the Hammers manage to convince one of Serie A’s top-performing young defenders to leave Milan for Stratford.
