West Ham are in the market for more defensive reinforcements this summer, with Yann Bisseck potentially arriving as a Champions League winner.

The Hammers have endured a miserable season, which could see them finish as low as 17th in the Premier League, and the squad needs a rebuild.

West Ham’s defence has been vulnerable again, as they conceded 61 times in 37 league games so far, and there is a lot of room for improvement.

Graham Potter has used a three-at-the-back formation at times since his arrival, and another centre-back could be the perfect addition to make this work.

West Ham ready another push for Bisseck transfer

With West Ham targeting a centre-back who can play in a three, Inter Milan star and Champions League finalist, Bisseck, has now emerged as an option.

Santi Aouna has now reported that Inter will let Bisseck go for the right price this summer, with West Ham interested.

Inter are set to target Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile as a replacement, meaning that Potter may need his old club to do him a favour in the transfer market to facilitate a deal.

Bisseck would be a coup for West Ham

Signing Bisseck would be a hugely unexpected coup for West Ham, given his status at Inter as well as the lack of European football on offer at the London Stadium.

Bisseck has made 44 appearances across all competitions this season and started in both legs of Inter’s Champions League semi-final victory against Barcelona.

At 24, Bisseck would arrive as someone who could make an immediate impact, as well as being a long-term option in the Hammers’ back line.

The defender would add a lot more height to the current back line, and is perfectly suited to a back three, having played in one all season under Simone Inzaghi.

It remains to be seen what kind of fee would be needed to sign him, but if a deal is possible, then West Ham should do all they can to land Bisseck’s signature.
