The summer transfer window is a big one for the future of Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola’s squad have experienced a very underwhelming campaign throughout the last few months as City have gone from winning four Premier League titles in a row, to a trophyless season, while still needing to qualify for the Champions League with two games to go.
In order to change the path, Man City are going to need to make changes ahead of next season, which is what the Manchester club have planned, as Guardiola is looking to add four or five new faces to his squad.
Full-back is one of the areas the legendary coach is looking to address, and it is being reported that City are now ready to challenge Liverpool for one of the Premier League’s best.

The i Paper is now reporting that Man City have also become interested in Kerkez ahead of the summer transfer window opening, who is valued by Bournemouth at around the £45m mark.
The report states that Liverpool are the frontrunners for the full-back’s signature, however, City have made enquiries and are being viewed as genuine rivals to the Reds for the Premier League star.
It seems like a hard deal for the Manchester club to get done, and if they don’t, Man City may revisit their interest in Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso, who is also a target for the full-back roles in Guardiola’s team.

Man City targets Liverpool are also interested in
Kerkez is the latest in several transfers, both Man City and Liverpool are involved in, as the Reds joined the race for Florian Wirtz last week, which may have played a part in the Manchester club dropping out of the running.
It was also reported on Tuesday that Liverpool also like Eberechi Eze, with the Crystal Palace player being a name City have been looking at as an alternative to Wirtz.
With both clubs looking to strengthen their full-back areas, it was reported before both of these that Man City target Wesley was also on the list of the Merseyside club, although that will have changed as Arne Slot is close to adding Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong to his squad.
The summer transfer window is huge for both Premier League giants, as Man City are looking to rebuild their squad, while Liverpool’s goal is to remain at the top of the English game for many more years.
