Florida basketball coach Todd Golden continued the mesmerizing replenishment of his national title roster Tuesday with a pledge from Arkansas transfer guard Boogie Fland.
Several media outlets reported Tuesday morning that Fland, who shined for the Razorbacks as a freshman (13.5 points per game, 5.1 assists) despite missing 15 games with a thumb injury, had pledged to UF, potentially giving the Gators another daunting backcourt in 2025-26.
Following their 65-63 win against Houston in the April 7 national title game, the Gators bid farewell to outgoing seniors (and top three scorers) Walter Clayton Jr. and Will Richard, and graduate student Alijah Martin. Since then, they’ve acquired Princeton guard Xaivian Lee (16.9 ppg, 5.5 assists last season) and Fland.
Additionally, 6-foot-10, 260-pound low-post enforcer Rueben Chinyelu confirmed Monday he had withdrawn from the NBA draft and would remain a Gator, and a possibility remains that 7-footer Alex Condon could withdraw from the draft and return for another season in Gainesville.
Ranked as the No. 8 overall available transfer in the portal by 247Sports, Fland declared for the draft on May 13, but withdrew his name and announced he’d be returning to college basketball.
