Fabrizio Romano: Liverpool hold positive talks to sign 'world-class' star with same agent as…

Liverpool are leading the race to sign Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez this summer, Fabrizio Romano has exclusively revealed on GIVEMESPORT’s Market Madness podcast.

The Premier League winners are looking to bring in another full-back alongside Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong and have held ‘very positive’ talks with Kerkez’s representatives over a potential move.

The Hungary international, who shares the same agent as Federico Chiesa, is reportedly ‘very keen’ on a switch to Anfield this summer, despite attracting interest from other clubs across Europe.

While talks are not yet in the final stages, Liverpool remain optimistic about concluding a deal for the ‘world-class’ defender and continue to work towards it.

‘It’s not in the final stages yet’

Romano, speaking on the Market Madness podcast, revealed that Liverpool have a ‘very good’ relationship with Kerkez’s agent and are advancing talks for the 21-year-old defender:

“Liverpool are leading the race, in very positive contact with the agent of the player, who is the same agent who represents Federico Chiesa.

“So very good relationship with Liverpool, the player would be very keen on the move. So the conversation is positive also in this case.

“It’s not in the final stages yet, it’s not done yet. So we have to be more patient, compared to Jeremie Frimpong, which has been a very fast deal."

Kerkez, who joined Bournemouth from AZ in 2023, has blossomed into one of the Premier League’s most promising left-backs during his two seasons on the south coast.

The Hungary international has made 39 appearances across all competitions under Andoni Iraola this term, scoring two goals and providing six assists.

It has been reported that a deal for Kerkez could cost in the region of £45m, with Bournemouth looking to triple the £15.5m they spent on him two years ago.

Kerkez has over three years remaining on his contract at the Vitality Stadium, which runs until June 2028.
