‘Price destined to rise’ for Newcastle United target – Director readying contacts in case of exit

Newcastle United have been linked with a move for AS Roma’s Evan Ndicka in the past few weeks.

The centre-back has impressed for the Italian giants this season and has arguably been one of their best players in the campaign. He arrived at the club two seasons ago and now, there is a rising possibility of his exit in the summer.

ASRomaLive have indicated in a report that Newcastle United could be one of the English clubs interested in Ndicka, who is now also attracting interest from Juventus and Napoli.

Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi is keeping a close eye on the situation of the Ivorian and will scour the European market for replacements, once any club comes forward for him.

With the player’s ‘price destined to rise’ to over €35m, Newcastle United may have to pay a higher amount to land Ndicka.

Despite that, there is hope for Eddie Howe’s side as the left sided defender’s sale can help Roma earn a significant capital gain. That is because the 25-year-old joined on a free transfer after his exit from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023 and anything they earn from his exit, will be pure profit.

Therefore, perhaps the €35m clause and statement of a rising price is Roma posturing.
