Manchester United, Tottenham and West Ham have all endured miserable seasons domestically after struggling in the bottom half of the table.
The Premier League trio each finished in the top half last season, with Tottenham securing a fifth-place finish, Man United ending the campaign in eighth and West Ham in ninth.
However, they now occupy the three places just above the relegation zone after sliding down the top-flight table this season.
Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider the three clubs will each be between £25-30million down on their budget following their poor performances in the Premier League.
Man United and Tottenham are set to go head-to-head in the Europa League final in Bilbao on Wednesday (21 May).
The winner of the competition will earn a place in next season’s Champions League, while the runner-up will join West Ham in having no European football.

Man United and Tottenham expectations revealed
Borson insisted Man United, Tottenham and West Ham would have likely budgeted for a top-eight finish this season.
He told Football Insider: “The two big variables that you’ll have for next year if you’re in Europe will be what are you going to generate from European competition and what are you going to generate from the league merit position.
“People will model fairly conservatively on the league position.
“Clearly, this season you’ve probably got Tottenham, Manchester United and West Ham United all about £25-30million off their budget finishing position.
“They would all have said we’re going to finish eighth or above let’s say, and they’re all going to finish about nine places lower, so that’s £25-30million off their budget.
“But usually, you’re in that range.
“You know you might miss by a place or you might get a place higher.”

Tottenham face Marcus Rashford transfer blow
Football Insider revealed on 30 April Tottenham will find a deal for Marcus Rashford difficult ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa from Man United, is admired at Spurs after they have long been interested in securing his signature.
Sources say Tottenham will need to win the Europa League and qualify for the Champions League to have any chance of attracting Rashford to the club.
