Butler struggled in the final two games of the series, scoring just 14 and 17 points in Games 4 and 5 — both losses that sealed the Warriors’ 1-4 exit in the second round. His lackluster showing drew criticism from Wade, who voiced his frustration on the Time Out with Dwyane Wade podcast.
"I just didn't like the way he approached the game," Wade said. "You getting $60 million, this ain’t working. He won’t look at the basket. I’ve seen this already in a Heat jersey..."
"I need to see what you’ll do in every moment. I saw Jimmy in the Finals vs the Nuggets, he did the same thing he did the other night, he didn’t look at the basket," he added.
The Warriors needed more leadership on the court from Butler after their superstar, Stephen Curry, went down with a hamstring injury that kept him sidelined for the entire series.
Butler finished the series averaging 20.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 5.6 assists, but ultimately, it wasn't enough as the Warriors fell to the T-Wolves 1–4.
