Liverpool urged to keep star ‘who bleeds for the shirt’ amid rumours that he could depart…

Liverpool have reclaimed their perch at the pinnacle of English football, but a big summer transfer window is needed if they are to stay there.

Arne Slot’s first season in charge of the Reds could not have gone much better after leading them to their 20th league title, although he still has an important transfer window ahead.

After losing Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid, a replacement has already been sourced in Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, kick-starting Liverpool’s summer of change.

🚨 Jeremie Frimpong will sign his contract at Liverpool in the next 24 hours, deal confirmed.

Dutch RB has completed first and second part of his medical with formal steps and announcement to follow.

David Lynch urges Liverpool to keep hold of Harvey Elliott

22-year-old Harvey Elliott has been left frustrated with a lack of game time after starting just two league games this season, although journalist David Lynch has urged Liverpool to do everything in their power to keep him for at least another season.

Speaking on the Anfield Index podcast, Lynch said: “I am a big advocate in just giving him another year to see what happens.”

🗣️ "I think he showed today there's a player there, there's somebody worth persisting with and he is a Liverpool fan, he bleeds for the shirt, doesn't he?"

“I think he showed today there’s a player there, there’s somebody worth persisting with and he is a Liverpool fan, he bleeds for the shirt, doesn’t he?

“I want to see one more season of him and I don’t think he has done his chances of getting that one more season any harm with his performance today.”

What has Elliott said regarding his Liverpool future?

Following the game against Brighton, Elliott spoke on his Liverpool future, saying: “I’ve tried as hard as I could and whatever happens, happens. It’s about what’s best for my career.

“It’s about reflecting and seeing what I can do. I’m here at the moment and I’m focusing on the final game.”

Elliott has been praised for his hard work in the past, a trait that makes him well-liked on the red half of Merseyside.

However, with so many quality options ahead of him in the pecking order, the Englishman has been linked with a move away, with the likes of Wolves and Newcastle keeping close tabs on him if he does decide to depart Anfield.
